What does the future of energy look like? At Lumina Solar, a cleaner, more environmentally conscious alternative could pave the way to home and business owners’ energy independence. Lumina Solar works throughout the Mid-Atlantic to provide this possibility for their clients, from single homes to large-scale commercial complexes. Our work with Lumina Solar began in 2021 as they experienced rapid growth and needed a digital marketing team to keep pace with their abundance of marketing goals. Our efforts have been multidisciplinary, assisting Lumina and their two subsidiaries, Fusion Roof and Fusion Solar Services, with a wide array of services from web and SEO to a vast push to increase their quality and frequency of content.

CHAPTER 1

Problem

Lumina is a larger company made of numerous moving parts. In 2020 and 2021, they experienced rapid growth and a significant surge in client demand. As a result, they felt their digital marketing efforts could be elevated to meet this growing demand and their increasing profile throughout the Mid-Atlantic.

Solution

Urban Ignite put together a detailed strategy guide for areas that needed attention first and used this guide as the foundation for our marketing strategy. Over time, we’ve become an extension of the Lumina Solar team in many ways, helping their marketing efforts stay consistent, effective, and grounded in their brand identity.

CHAPTER 2 : WEB

Web Design & SEO

Our first step in executing a new marketing strategy was to go back to the drawing board with Lumina Solar’s website. Their initial design didn’t work well at incorporating their brand, with a design that was a little too simple and absent content. So our design team created custom assets inspired by the existing logo and utilized these assets to compliment the new design with distinctive splashes of color and smooth shapes that draw the eye. We also wanted to rely more heavily on the visual aesthetics of a solar system, emphasizing installation photos and product cutouts that worked in harmony with the new emphasis on embracing color.

The revamped visuals are much more compelling and effectively tie in Lumina’s branding across the site. Visual updates were only one part of the equation, however. Our team also identified areas where written content was severely lacking and others where the content wasn’t SEO-focused. We compiled an extensive essential phrase list for the Lumina team and used it as our basis to expand the written content significantly on the website. Our SEO-driven content focused on relevant service areas and provided more significant insights into Lumina’s services. As part of our web redesign, we added over ten core pages concentrating on services and identity as a company. Our SEO efforts have contributed to a significant uptick in organic traffic driven by targeted keywords.

CHAPTER 3 : MEDIA CONTENT

Photo & Video

Authentic, original content is an essential tool for any business, but especially for those in service industries. Lumina’s high-quality work deserves to be showcased appropriately. So our media team began building a solid content portfolio for use on the website, in emails, and on social media. This included project highlights, client testimonials, and other featurettes. We also helped them create video series to address all things solar energy, such as frequently asked questions from clients. Visual identity is key to every growing business, and a vast portfolio of original content can help invigorate marketing efforts in other sectors.

Big pull quote here. This could be a review from our client or a testimonial from the clients client that would reflect somehow the good work we are doing.

CHAPTER 4 : Social MEDIA

Social Media Marketing

A consistent, high-quality presence on social media is another critical responsibility of a modern, reliable business. Our team wanted to bring a greater cohesiveness to Lumina Solar’s social media platforms, so our graphic design team created a unique visual presentation for informative posts. Communicating the story of Lumina and building relationships with its audience is central to our social media strategy, which is why we rely on organic, authentic, custom content as the centerpiece of our social media approach.

CHAPTER 5 : Email Marketing

Email Marketing Strategy

Lumina Solar relies on email for both internal and external communication. We took up the task of creating a more efficient and practical approach to email marketing. Our policy was to streamline the number of emails sent and the content they included. A timely, well-executed email strategy can help draw leads and keep an audience interested. Our email designs are tailored to drive clicks and hold their readers’ attention. Lumina’s email strategy has undergone a significant facelift, and we’ve communicated its brand identity through the medium more effectively.

CHAPTER 6

Results

Lumina Solar is a force to be reckoned with in their industry, supplying clients throughout the Mid-Atlantic with clean, affordable energy. Our goal was to help their marketing efforts match their exponential growth. Our marketing efforts have allowed them better to utilize their brand identity across the digital space. Additionally, our consistent content push has created an organic social media audience and, importantly, qualified organic leads coming to them through their website.

We look forward to continuing our work with Lumina Solar, and we’re committed to helping them further their mission of providing an excellent energy alternative to the Mid-Atlantic.

Jordan

Jordan Fuller is the Founder and Creative Director of Urban Ignite. He works with clients and the team to help drive the creative vision of each project.

Content creation has always been at the core of Jordan’s identity, starting with home movie production at the age of 6 and video editing at 14 for his YouTube channel. He took an optimistic approach, teaching himself web design in case the YouTube channel found success. While that project never achieved virality, it gave Jordan the tools to lay the foundation on which Urban Ignite would be built.

Urban Ignite began with clients in the construction and home remodeling industry and grew as a trusted digital marketing firm despite its small team. In the early days, Jordan saw the adverse effects overworking can have on a team’s creative output. As such, the workplace model was readjusted to focus on efficiency and work-life balance. This model includes industry-competitive pay while maintaining a 30-hour work week.

Jordan is a creative repository for clients, helping them dream bigger regarding content and marketing strategies.

In his free time, Jordan enjoys a good concert, nature walks, video games, meditation, or exploring local events across Baltimore. He also loves collaborating with others to make art, whether it’s at work or for personal projects. In addition, he hosts local “house shows,” which have showcased local musicians at the Urban Ignite office space for eight years.
